David Suzuki's
"If YOU were Prime Minister" National Tour is coming to Saskatchewan!!!

(*Photos by Al Harvey / http://www.slidefarm.com)
If YOU were Prime Minister, what would you do for the
environment? David Suzuki wants to know, and he's embarking on a cross-Canada
election-style campaign to find out. The objective of the tour is for
Canadians to give David Suzuki their united voice for political action
on the environment and to inspire people to take action, both on a community
level and politically.
David Suzuki’s tour will be making a stop in Regina, Wednesday,
February 21st at 7pm, in the Education Auditorium at University of
Regina. His appearance will be accompanied by Lyle Whitefish
and Dr. Glenn Sutter. An EcoFair will start at 5:30 infront of the
education auditorium to promote businesses and organizations that
offer environmentally friendly products, services and programs.
There will also be a chance for you to voice your opinion
on video! The David Suzuki Foundation will set up a venue for people
to make 20-second "If YOU were Prime Minister..." videos and
upload them to the tour's Youtube group through davidsuzuki.org.

The Barenaked
Ladies Take the Environment into Their Own Hands
Climate Change Saskatchewan and the Office of Energy
Conservation would like to applaud the Barenaked Ladies for their efforts
to address global warming and a host of other global challenges. Partnering
with Reverb, a non-profit organization that seeks to raise awareness
and support for the environment through building upon the powerful connection
between musicians and their fans, the Barenaked Ladies’ have launched
Barenaked Planet, a website designed to draw attention to environmental
issues. On thier current tour they are also incorporating a number of
green initiatives, including tour buses and trucks running on biodiesel,
recycling and using compostable materials backstage, and offsetting
the energy used at each show with wind power. As well, they invited local
and national groups such as Climate Change Saskatchewan, and the Office
of Energy Conservation to attend their recent performances in Regina
and Saskatoon so that fans can learn about issues in their local communities
and get engaged.
