Job Opening: Saskatchewan Volunteer & Data Coordinator
WHAT IS PROJECT PORCHLIGHT?
Project Porchlight is an energy efficiency campaign administered by One Change, a not-for-profit organization that advocates community engagement and environmental sustainability.
ROLE OF VOLUNTEER & DATA COORDINATOR
Reporting to the Saskatchewan Campaign Manager, the Volunteer & Data Coordinator is responsible for volunteer management, data collection and management and oversees inventory and the distribution of campaign materials. The Volunteer & Data Coordinator will be resourceful in acquiring volunteer participation in his/her community and will supervise volunteers and assist in the oversight of events. They will also help coordinate campaign logistics. Some evening and weekend work will be required.
Position Type: Contract (approximately 6 months with possibility of extension)
Responsibilities:
- Help deliver community education and engagement program
- Coordinate communication with volunteers
- Coordinate bulb pickups, training and volunteer activity
- Coordinate volunteers and supplies for community events
- Assist with the implementation of activities and publicity events
- Support volunteer recruitment, training, activities and recognition
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers by creating and maintaining relationships with community groups
- Provide weekly reports to the Campaign Manager on volunteer, delivery and inventory data
- Publishing campaign stories and photographs on Project Porchlight website
- Other responsibilities as required
Core Competencies/Qualifications:
- Experience in working with volunteers
- Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills
- High level of professionalism
- Capacity to work under pressure with excellent attention to detail
- Proficient with MS Office
- Experience with data entry and data management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid and active Driver’s License required
- Ability to both give and accept direction and input
- Ability to travel to different rendezvous points throughout Saskatchewan for training sessions and delivery events
- Ability to capture stories from everyday experiences with volunteers
- Must be able to work in a culturally competent manner
- Must be able to work in diplomatic and respectful way with broader community
- Demonstrated passion for environmental causes and conservation would be considered an asset

ROLE OF SASKATCHEWAN CAMPAIGN MANAGER
The Saskatchewan Campaign Manager will oversee the campaign’s day-to-day business operations and ensure the fulfillment of the campaign’s goals. The Campaign Manager will work closely with the One Change head office in Ottawa in order to administer Project Porchlight in the province according to the workplan and tactical plan provided by One Change. He/she will be responsible for recruiting and managing short-term, contract staff and volunteers, community outreach, creating a buzz about the campaign, and developing and maintaining relationships with local communities. Some work during evenings and on weekends will be required.

Responsibilities:
- Builds local partnerships and establishes close relationships with community groups, municipalities, and political representatives
- Ensures that the organization and campaign are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders and the media
- Identifies resource requirements, recruits, supervises, manages, and motivates the campaign team to reach the campaign goals on time and on budget
- Coordinates communications, delivery staff, volunteers, and logistics surrounding community distribution of CFL bulbs
- Solicits, secures, and coordinates volunteers by creating and maintaining relationships with community associations, neighbourhood groups and by other means
- Trains and ensures work quality of support staff and volunteers
- Implements campaign activities according to schedules and specific time frames based on tactical planning
- Plans and implements activities and publicity events arranged in coordination with the One Change Communications Team in Ottawa
- Collaborates with the Communications Team to ensure deliverables are achieved
- Liaises with stakeholders to ensure the funding and compliance requirements for the campaigns are being met and is aware of reporting deliverables
- Creates progress reports based a schedule provided by the Campaigns Manager
- Collects and prepares campaign metrics and progress reports for One Change national head office
- Manages and provides advice on suppliers and tracks campaign inventories
Core Competencies/Qualifications:
- Any combination of training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, business administration or a related field
- Advanced event planning, promotion and management experience
- Experience in project coordination in community organizations and the non-profit sector
- Experience in team management and coordination
- Experience with data collection, data management and data reporting
- Experience preparing schedules, workplans and reports
- Professional leadership and supervisory experience
- Ability to oversee and manage complex projects on time and on budget
- Strong administrative and organizational skills and the capacity to work under pressure with excellent attention to detail
- Familiar with community associations and neighbourhood groups
- Ability to recruit, motivate and manage volunteers
- Strong leadership and facilitation skills
- Excellent verbal, written communication ability and excellent interpersonal relations ability
- Strong technical/computer skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be able to work in a culturally competent manner
- Must be able to work in diplomatic and respectful way with broader community
- Demonstrated passion for environmental conservation would be considered an asset
